      Hi there,

      Many thanks for your question.

      Tofu has around 8g protein per 100g compared to around 14g/ 100g in something like Quorn, and 30g/100g in chicken, so although it’s classed as a protein source, it’s not one of the highest. That said it does contain all the essential amino acids, making it good quality protein, so we’ve added it to the Vegetarian Higher Protein Guide along with eggs, milk, Quorn and nuts as an example of non meat protein.
